Can I use ProTag for commercial applications?
No. ProTag is licensed under the GNU General Public License and thus is open source software. As a consequence, derived work must also be distributed under the GNU GPL and thus must be freely available. If you like to use ProTag in a commcercial way, please contact us.

Are my Office documents transmitted over the Internet?
Yes. To recognize the names and identifiers of proteins within free text, parts of the text (not the text as a whole) is committed to the Biological Markup Services, e.g. ProThesaurus and LiMB (see External links).
